Films for Perspex, Lexen, Polycarbonates, Plexiglass and more …. !!

Window Film is not suitable for use on plastic surfaces … until now!

Plexiglass, polycarbonate and Lexen are only a few names of the plastics that have sometimes been used to replace traditional glass. These plastics can be found in skylights, sidelights on front doors, storm door panes, and garage door windows. The advantage of the plastic materials is that they are much more impact resistant than glass.

The issue in the past when applying film to these materials is that once the plastic is exposed to any heat, it slowly begins to release the chemicals and absorbed moisture that was part of the original manufacturing process (commonly known as out-glassing). On film applied to plastic the out-glassing is evident as bubbles between the film and plastic surface.

The exciting news is that Johnson Window Films have just released a NEW ANTI BLISTER window film that has been specifically designed for use on Plexiglass, Polycarbonate, Lexen, and other plastic surfaces.
